talking to, and about a wall

In a recent post I described the travails of a break-in suffered by my son. The plot has since thickened as we have discovered that several neighbors have recently had the same experience, but neglected to bring it to everyones attention.
Embarassing or not, you should let your neighbors know if your house has been violated, it tends to put everyone else on guard. Well, the alarm installation guys are real happy. Four installs this week.....
Now for the worrisome twist in the crime, my son had his mothers car keys in the jacket that was stolen, office and home keys too. We usually park on the street, but once we finally found the spare car key, parking in the back yard seemed the best course of prevention. You know, we didn't want to donate a car to some drug rehab reject.
Anyway, it's a tight squeeze back there, utility building, deck, trampoline, trailers, etc kind of fill in the space, but you can still fit a car or two relatively easy. Or so I thought..........
Yesterday morning as we all prepared to venture out into the world I casually mentioned to my wife that she should turn around instead of backing out of the driveway, she barked back" I can back out" ( I fergot she hadn't had coffee yet ) . There is this short brick wall that lines the drive and her car was close, but "she can back out"......
It was raining when I returned home and I parked on the street, so I didn't notice the lack of a wall until last night when I walked the dog, she never mentioned the wall either, or the scrape down the drivers side of her car, or the bruise on her toe from moving the bricks out of the driveway. Until I asked her if she had loaned any bricks to our neighbor.
Of course it was my fault, if I would have given son gas money he would not have had to borrow her car, the keys would not have been in his jacket, and the need to park in the back yard would be moot. Not to mention that she wanted to place the utility building in a different location, I made her late, and therefore in a hurry, it was raining, and she didn't see the wall. I should be sorry for making her drop a brick on her toe because she never liked this house anyway......."Uh, baby, I told you to turn around...."
I'm going to Lowes and get some mortar and bricks this afternoon, right after I have the locks changed on her car, I just hope she doesn't have to utilize reverse while driving my truck. I didn't mention my reservations about that to her tho, not enough coffee in her system this morning..............
